About Mt. Airy Baseball

MAYAA Baseball has represented the Mount Airy region for over 40 years. Our program offers baseball for all levels including Tee ball Clinic, Tee ball, Rookies, Minors, Juniors and Seniors; ages 4-18. MAYAA baseball provides opportunities for girls and boys with the goal to build minds, bodies, team spirit, sportsmanship and character.

Our in-house rec program is dedicated to teaching kids of all ages the fundamentals of baseball and sportsmanship. The levels we offer are age appropriate and concentrate on the skills that are in line with the kids involved. No tryouts are required to participate in the MAYAA in-house program and all boys and girls are invited. Most of all, we have a program that is fun for the kids and passes on the love of America’s favorite pastime to the next generation.

We are also proud to offer Travel and All Star levels of play. The MAYAA Travel and All Star teams are selected each year to represent the organization in tournaments throughout Maryland and, depending on the age group, in other states.

Fundraising Opportunities

Monies raised for the program go toward many things within the program

  • Lime to line the four fields in our hometown ballpark and the fields that we use throughout the town to support practices and games
  • Drying agents to help make the fields playable in wet conditions
  • The tools and machines needed to maintain the fields year round and keep them in great shape year after year
  • Larger projects to keep the grounds in great shape, manage the flow of water, and keep the fields in level and optimal playing condition for our teams and visiting teams.
  • Lights to illuminate the fields for night games
  • Upkeep in general to the ballpark to keep it an amazing place to come and watch a ball game
  • Uniforms to keep the kids outfitted in the blue and gold season after season
  • Baseballs for all levels of play

Hit-a-Thon (under Fundraising Opportunities)

Each spring, all levels of rec tee ball, baseball and softball teams come together to participate in a Hit-A-Thon at our ballpark.  MAYAA boys and girls use this opportunity to raise money for the program.  With those monies raised, we hold a Hit-A-Thon night at our ballpark, where all players come out and get a chance to hit the longest ball and win prizes.  This fundraiser is an important way to fund the program needs.

Golf Tournament (under Fundraising Opportunities)

Each spring, MAYAA Baseball hosts a golf tournament at a local golf course.  Supporters can contribute to the fundraiser by signing up to play in a foursome, by donating items for raffles and giveaways, and by helping to run the event.  This fundraiser is a great chance for the Mt. Airy community to come together in support of the kids and enjoy a great day out on the golf course, raising money for the organization.  Registration, raffle and donation monies for this event all come together to help support the field and other needs for the baseball season.

Be a Sponsor (under Fundraising Opportunities)

Interested in supporting MAYAA baseball?  We would like to invite you to be a sponsor for Mt. Airy Baseball for the 2020 season!  We have three tiers of options that you can participate in, for various levels of exposure at Mt. Airy Baseball events in the community.

  • $500 earns you exposure as a sponsor on signage at either the Mt. Airy Baseball Hit a Thon at the ballpark or the Mt. Airy Baseball Golf Tournament during your sponsorship season.
  • $1000 earns you exposure as a sponsor on signage at BOTH the Mt. Airy Baseball Hit a Thon AND the Mt. Airy Baseball Golf Tournament for the season.
  • $1500 earns you exposure at the Hit A Thon, the Golf Tournament, and on a banner that will be up and on display at the ballpark throughout the spring baseball season.  And, we will provide you with signage to display in your business that shows that you are supporting our organization.

Mount Airy Youth Athletic Association (MAYAA) Baseball Registration

Mt. Airy Baseball competes in the Frederick County Cal Ripken League or FCCRL.  The 13-15 year old league and older participate in the Babe Ruth League.

By joining together in the FCCRL, Mt. Airy will compete with 14-18 teams per division - 8U, 10U and 12U and remain sanctioned in the Cal Ripken program, allowing our teams to continue to compete in the post-season and “All-Star” Cal Ripken State tournaments.

Since the FCCRL offers “travel” or “select” level teams in addition to rec level teams, Mt. Airy baseball and more importantly Mt. Airy parents, will have the option now or in future years to play in either rec or travel, on a team by team basis within each age division.

The vision of Mt. Airy Baseball is to preserve the tradition and excellence of Bulldog baseball and to continue to enjoy watching our kids playing spring, summer and fall baseball in our hometown ballpark

We firmly believe that kids deserve an opportunity to play baseball in their hometown, whether they are 4-5 year olds playing tee-ball or 15 years old and want to try it for it the first time.

For those of you considering playing  baseball this spring, MAYAA Baseball encourages you to register online today.  We hope your family has the opportunity to join and experience the Bulldogs baseball program.  Questions?  Email baseball@mayaasports.org
