Welcome to the Mount Airy Soccer
Spring 2020 Season

Spring Soccer 2020 Cancelled do to COVID-19

Subject: MAYAA Soccer Spring Season Cancellation

May 7, 2020
MAYAA Clinic and Travel Soccer Families,

While I wish that we could all be enjoying another fun soccer season, this will have to wait until the Fall.  The safety of our MAYAA families comes first and with that, all MAYAA Soccer activities will be cancelled for the Spring 2020 Season.

The cancellation is for MAYAA Clinic Soccer and Travel Soccer Spring seasons.

Note:  The following two teams participate in leagues that have not yet cancelled their season.  If and when these teams have their seasons cancelled, the options identified below will apply to them as well.  (Solomon and Menino)

The following options are available to all soccer families for the amount of the Spring 2020 Registration Fee that was paid:
  • Donation to the MAYAA to offset non-refundable Spring Soccer Fees that have been paid (league fees, tournament fees, operating costs)
    • Please email to let us know with the word DONATION in the subject line of the email;  your donation is greatly appreciated.  We will provide documentation that can be used for tax purposes.
  • Full Credit of the Spring Registration fee for Fall MAYAA 2020 Soccer Season
    • No Action is required as we will transfer your Spring registration amount paid to the Fall 2020 season.
  • Full Credit of the Spring Registration fee for any MAYAA Sport (Fall 2020 or Spring 2021)
    • Please email your child's name(s) to let us know with the word MAYAACREDIT in the subject line of the email.
  • Refund of Spring Registration fee (Minus $30  Travel uniform fee **)
    • Please email your child’s name(s) and the address of where to mail the check to with word REFUND in the subject line of the email.  Refund requests must be made prior to June 1, 2020.
**The uniform fee of $30 is applicable only to U9-U15 players, where the player ordered a uniform for the Spring 2020 Season and received it from the coach.

Please do not contact your coach with your option decision

MAYAA Soccer will provide refunds when requested, but as a program within the Mt. Airy Youth Athletic Association, the issuance of credits for the Fall 2020 Season for continuing players is requested.  As a non-profit organization, the registration fees that are collected are used to purchase equipment, cover operating costs and to pay league fees which have been paid and are non-refundable in some cases.

Finally, we remain committed to providing all our players the opportunity to continue participating in a healthy and developmental soccer program. We look forward to the day, hopefully very soon, when we will have everybody back out on the soccer fields having fun!

If you have any questions, let me know

Best Regards,
Scott Rieland
MAYAA Soccer Commissioner

PS: As soon as the Fall 2020 Registration information is available, registration information will be posted on our website, www.MAYAASPORTS.ORG and we will notify you by email as well!
